 Top education officials seem enamored with the California School Dashboard, the new tool being used to measure how schools and districts are performing.

But there are plenty of critics who feel it’s too clunky and has too much information — although not the kind information that parents need. It’s difficult to navigate, they say, and it does not provide a ranking system that would allow for parents to see how their schools compare to others.
