Statement from EdVoice CEO on CAASPP Results

Statement from Marshall Tuck, CEO of EdVoice, on CAASPP Results

SACRAMENTO, CA (October 15, 2026) – “While it’s encouraging to see some improvement in reading and math proficiency—especially given the efforts of state leaders, districts, educators, and families—today’s results are a reminder that California needs to accelerate progress for students. Significant achievement gaps persist for students from low-income communities, limiting their future opportunities. Challenges of this magnitude require system-level change. State leaders must build on their commitment to strong literacy instruction, deepen the focus on math, and prioritize effective implementation of recent reforms so they translate into meaningful improvements for all students.”
